Prom Makeup – the 5 most important steps

Prom is one of the most important events in the life of a girl and its organization can make you quite nervous and tired. The best thing you can do is to plan ahead your dress shoes, hairstyle and makeup. In order to assist you we put together a list of the five most important beauty tips for prom. No matter whether you choose the services of a professional makeup artists or trust your own skills, following them will certainly not make you look neither too weird nor too simple, just dazzling.

1. Emphasize on one area

One of the most common and serious mistakes is to highlight both the eyes and lips. You must choose one area and to only slightly emphasize the other. The decision is easy if you think about what kind of compliments do you get more often – for your amazing smile or your eyes. If you choose lips, choose bright colors like red or deep pink. The makeup on your eyelids has to be as simple as possible. When focusing on the eyes you can put eyeliner, saturated colors or shades to bet on smoky eyes and a large amount of mascara and even false eyelashes (avoid the ones that look unnatural).

2. Prepare your skin

Achieving a perfect skin tone is a task that may prove even more important than making up the eyes. The secret is to look like you have almost no makeup and your skin is perfect in general. If you have problems with acne or scars, cover areas with concealer before you put a very thin layer of foundation. Take time and go round the shops to find the perfect shade and always ask testers to be sure the durability of the product. Do not forget to apply foundation and the area under the chin, the line of the forehead and around the ears and blend until it matches.

3. If in doubt, take inspiration from the celebs

If it is difficult to define what makeup can do you can always tap into ideas from the stars. Select a celebrity that has similar with your face shape, skin color and hair and look at pictures to enjoy the right makeup for prom. The big advantage of this method is that their makeup is made by the best professional makeup artists and the results are excellent. So if you go to a specialist you will be able to take a picture to illustrate your idea. If you prefer to cope alone with the task and have started to train in advance make sure you can handle and avoid unpleasant surprises. Also try out in advance how your makeup looks like in a picture, because you may find that it is nearly invisible, so if necessary change the products used.

4. What to remember when you shoot

The pictures are what remains after the prom and will be the thing you show to your children with pride, so do not forget the following:
- Always check your makeup with a mirror before taking pictures and apply corrections
- Soak up the oily areas or put powder before photos

5. What to put in your purse

It is indispensable to have lipstick or lip gloss, powder with mirror (just in case) and eyeliner.

And another thing, remember that your biggest weapon is your positive attitude and happiness because when we smile we are all beautiful.
